my book.....something is lost in the translation of a picture, but.....reading 50 pages a night per class and highlighting, summarizing, and noting wildly....takes its toll on you. and yes...i color code my highlighting. and if you really care..that's my copyright/trademark/patent book....my easiest class thus far. and yes..this is what i read at the bar tonight....
i beg you.....make it december already....place me on the grand slopes of tahoe with my snowboard...i'm tired of school..and it's been two weeks. i have a perpetual deer-in-headlights look. i can't read without highlighting, in a color coded schemata, and summarizing each paragraph in the margin. and, worst of all.....i'm loving tax law and find myself sitting around coming up with variations on the tax problems he gives us.
i beg you. remove me from this higher educational environment......please....

I'm in the same boat. I got apathetic about law school right after I took Lawyering I, the "legal writing" class. The biggest waste of time.
Five classes. Eight books that cost over $600. Many hours of reading. It's no wonder so many law school students and lawyers take up alcohol. I think it's time for you to drink.
I can sum up Legal Ethics or any Professional Responsibility class real quickly: "Don't screw your client legally or physically."

I had another use of the highlighter in undergrad. We were graded based on preparation and the professor liked to cold call people at the beginning of the class to see if we’d done our work. Every time I’d come to a class unprepared, I’d quickly highlight random lines on the text so that the professor thinks I’d done an in-depth analysis of the case so he does not feel like he needs to cold call me. It always worked.
