besides, i'm in a really weird mood at the moment....and despite wanting to explicate it all...i can't....
not yet....
so instead, i'm going to post my favorite poem....
yes, it's about love...and yes, it's about true love...
but what i love most about this poem is how it explicates it all. it makes everything seem so simple......so commonplace....and so effortless...
it makes everything into something ethereal and spiritual....
and it's comforting to know that maybe the spark, lack of spark, a one sided connection, a total lack of connection..whatever....is just a little bit outside of our own flaws...and a little bit closer to the way the universe works....and the universe always works out for the best....
so, to me it's uplifting, it's hope inducing, and it's proof positive that there really are no rules.
make what you wish of it.
since feling is first
who pays any attention
to the syntaxt of things
will never wholly kiss you;
wholly to be a fool
while spring is in the world
my blood approves
and kisses are a far better fate
than wisdom
lady i swear by all flowers. Don't cry
--the best gesture of my brain is less than
your eyelids flutter which says
we are for each other: then
laugh, leaning back in my arms
for life's not a paragraph
And death i think is no parenthesis.

I like it. Glad I metcha through the Sassmeister General. ;)
fuck!
I thought for SURE life was a paragraph ... which is why I have such long, run-on sentences ... heh
Totally love it. And the amazing thing about poetry is that we can all interpret it the way we want and there is no real wrong answer.
I have total writer envy for some of the masters...but good envy...I want to be like you and will work for it envy...not I hate you I wish you were not that good envy :)

Nat: yea. i envy people who are artistic sooooo much. i can't draw for shit..but i make a mean stick man. it's not a jealous "i hope you die" envy, it's more of a "i so wish i could do that"
Jay: aww, i try to be thought provoking..usually i fail miserable...hmm
Murph: awesome movie. awesome!
I bought a collection of ee. cummings poems way back in high school. Of course my little brain was ill formed back then and I was offended by much of his play.
That said, I still have his book sitting on my shelf and I think that it may be time to take it d
o
w
n and read it again with my fucking eyes op----en this time. Thanks for the reminder.
Gorgeous, thought provoking, and wayyy tooo deep for the first cup of coffee!!
I love cummings.
WAIT. that sounds a bit wrong actually.. I enjoy reading Cummings work. The best thing about his structure and flow of expression is you can read it over and over again and depending on your mood or level of thought process acheive different ideas and feelings from it.
beautiful choice Buttah, Kisses ARE a far better fate than Wisdom.
Aw, thanks sweety - I think you're awesome.
just add murphs man butter...
Trix..i'm not down darlin! but thanks for the love :)
Mpls: nope. not looking for love...looking for an understanding of why things play out the way they do. sometimes i just need to remind myself that there are no rules
LSD: glad to wax nostalgic on yo' ass. get to readin..he's got some great stuff...and the awesomest part about his work is that it is completely open ended. that and he has a poem about his car, and you'd swear he was talking about fucking a virgin until the last line. shwing!
Emma..i like cumming..and cummings..so it's all good. i do like his poetry a lot..him and w.h. auden rock my wee little poetic world!
Matt: group hug!! hehe
Murph: 2pm..i'm coming to collect.
I find it spiritually moving and maddening how so many others say in poetry what my being has been whispering about for so long. Like they were on the tip of my tongue & they said it first.
Then, when laid to music, sets my soul ablaze. Stunning. I should like to acquire a book of this work myself.
i do love the cum.
heh.
Ain't it always the way? Ya get nutz with the cum.
